I am the sole creator of each weaving on display. What you see is the result of many self-taught years. Each piece is woven on a floor loom and finished by hand.
There is nothing magic in what I do. It is a process - from conceptual design to finished product. Through weaving an idea becomes reality. I arrange and rearrange the colors. The choice of colors is influenced by nature, current fashion trends, and my internal eye. Sometimes combinations are chosen simply because of how I feel at the moment.
Weaving generates fabric that involves both the hands and the eyes. Different fabrics make you feel different ways. Color and texture can evoke a gamut of emotions. My challenge as a weaver is to choose the right colors and fibers for what I am trying to create. You then bring your own 'eye' to what you see.
The only sound is the rhythm of the colors.
Thought becomes pattern.
Black and white become texture.
The colors make a journey.
Ideas become fabric
— woven by me
— enhanced by you.
What I envisioned and what you see
May not be the same.
It does not matter.
In the doing there is energy - returned.
In the silence there is peace.
